About PFMatrix

Last updated: April 6, 2026

PF Matrix is a comprehensive prop trading firm comparison platform built to help traders cut through the noise and make informed decisions. With dozens of proprietary trading firms competing for attention, each with different challenge structures, pricing models, and trading rules. Finding the right fit can be overwhelming. PF Matrix exists to make that process simple, transparent, and data-driven.

1. Our Mission

The prop trading industry has grown rapidly, but reliable, structured information about firms remains scattered across websites, forums, social media, and word of mouth. PF Matrix's mission is to organize the prop firm industry's data and make it accessible, transparent, and comparable.

We believe every trader deserves access to clear, objective information when choosing a prop firm. Whether you're evaluating your first challenge or comparing payout terms across multiple firms, PF Matrix gives you the structured data you need to make confident decisions, without the guesswork.

2. What We Do

PF Matrix maintains a comprehensive directory of proprietary trading firms, with detailed data on the factors that matter most to traders:

  • Challenge structures: phase counts, profit targets, time limits, and evaluation rules across multiple challenge types per firm.
  • Pricing: challenge fees across different account sizes, with discount tracking and price history.
  • Profit splits: initial splits, scaling plans, and conditions for increased payouts.
  • Drawdown rules: daily and overall drawdown limits, trailing vs. static drawdown, and drawdown calculation methods.
  • Trading restrictions: news trading policies, weekend holding, EA/bot permissions, and copy trading rules.
  • Payout methods: supported withdrawal methods, minimum payout thresholds, and processing times.
  • Platform support: MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, DXtrade, and other supported trading platforms.
  • Instrument coverage: forex pairs, indices, commodities, crypto, and other tradable instruments.

Our side-by-side comparison tool lets you select up to three firms and compare them across every data point, making differences immediately visible. Combined with advanced filtering, sorting, and user reviews, PF Matrix provides a complete research toolkit for evaluating prop firms.

3. How We Collect Data

Accuracy is the foundation of everything we do. PF Matrix collects firm data through a structured research process that relies exclusively on official, publicly available sources:

  • Official firm websites: pricing pages, challenge descriptions, and feature listings.
  • Terms of service and trading rules: the legal and operational documents that define how each firm actually operates.
  • FAQs and help centers: detailed answers to common questions about payouts, rules, and account management.
  • Official announcements: updates, policy changes, and new product launches communicated by firms directly.

Every data point goes through a multi-step verification process. When discrepancies are found between sources, we investigate further and prioritize the most authoritative source (typically the firm's terms of service). We regularly review and update our data to reflect changes made by firms, though some delay between a firm's update and its reflection on PF Matrix is unavoidable.

If you notice any outdated or inaccurate information on PF Matrix, we encourage you to report it to support@pfmatrix.com. Community feedback is invaluable in helping us maintain data quality.

4. Our Methodology

PF Matrix does not assign subjective scores or create opaque ranking algorithms. Instead, we present structured, factual data and let traders draw their own conclusions. Our comparison approach covers the key dimensions that define a prop firm's offering:

  • Pricing and value: we track challenge fees across account sizes so you can compare the cost of entry.
  • Profit splits and scaling: we document initial splits and how they change over time as traders scale.
  • Drawdown rules: we detail daily and overall limits, whether drawdown is trailing or static, and how it is calculated, because these rules are often the difference between passing and failing.
  • Trading restrictions: we catalog which firms allow news trading, weekend holding, EAs, and copy trading, since these constraints directly impact strategy selection.
  • Payout infrastructure: we track supported withdrawal methods, minimum thresholds, and reported processing times.
  • Platform and instrument support: we document which trading platforms and instruments each firm supports, so you can ensure compatibility with your setup.

User reviews and ratings complement our structured data by capturing the qualitative aspects of working with a firm (customer support quality, payout reliability, and overall experience) that data alone cannot convey.

5. Editorial Independence

PF Matrix may earn revenue through affiliate links when users click through to prop firm websites and make purchases. This revenue supports the operation and development of the Platform. Affiliate relationships never influence our data, rankings, or editorial content.

Every firm in our directory is researched and presented using the same methodology, whether they have an affiliate relationship with PF Matrix or not. Firms cannot pay for higher rankings, more favorable data presentation, or suppressed negative reviews. Our credibility depends on our objectivity, and we protect that above all else.
